TMI Associates opened its Kyoto Office in December 2019, as its fifth office in Japan.

Kyoto has a long-standing manufacturing culture, ranging from traditional to cutting-edge industries, and many companies, from those attracting international attention to progressive venture companies, actively carry out business in this city. TMI will utilize the wide range of business fields, expertise, and rich experience that TMI has accumulated over the past 30 years since its founding to provide focused services to the local community. TMI has also always taken up new challenges in view of what is necessary to provide services that satisfy our clients. In the global, historical, academic, religious, and environmental city of Kyoto, we will actively provide services in new fields not bound by the limits of conventional corporate legal practice, such as in education, shrines and temples, the environment, and regional revitalization.

In order to meet the needs of internationally active clients, the Kyoto Office is staffed by attorneys-at-law with rich experience in cross-border services, in addition to domestic cases. Further, in conjunction with TMI offices in Japan and overseas, we will respond to needs in a wide range of fields, such as M&A, business restructuring, overseas expansion, dispute resolution, crisis management, compliance, human resources and labor, intellectual property, finance, tax affairs, labor law, antitrust law, environment and energy.
