TMI Associates established the Osaka Office as a new hub for the Kansai Region in June 2018. The Osaka Office was established with the aim of providing improved responses to requests for comprehensive legal services in the Kansai Region which TMI has to date been providing through the Kobe Office. In January 2019, the Osaka Office relocated to Umeda, which is a center of business in the Kansai Region, thereby further enhancing its convenience and office environment.

Osaka is a base for a wide variety of international enterprises and the city has a historical background as the center of logistics and commerce. It has been known as the “Kitchen of Japan” since early times. Osaka will host both the upcoming G20 Summit (2019) and the World Expo (2025), and corporate activities in the Kansai Region are therefore expected to be greatly energized through such events.

Under such circumstances, the Osaka Office aims to respond in a timely and appropriate manner to the various business needs of Kansai-based enterprises and provides one-stop legal services across a wide-range of cutting-edge areas, such as corporate legal practice both at home and abroad, M&A transactions, international transactions, overseas expansions, dispute resolution, compliance, and issues relating to the Antimonopoly Act, seamlessly cooperating with other domestic offices of TMI Associates, as well as TMI’s overseas local desks and alliance law firms.
