TMIは、2025年3月11日、公立大学法人京都市立芸術大学（以下「京都市立芸術大学」）と、相互の連携・協力を推進するため、協定を締結しました。

■協定締結の背景と目的

京都市立芸術大学は、日本の芸術分野を育くみ成熟させ、国際的な文化交流の拠点である京都において、長年にわたり芸術創造と研究を推進し、多くの芸術家を輩出してきた伝統ある大学です。一方、TMIはグローバルに展開する総合プロフェッショナルローファームとして、様々な分野における法的支援を提供しています。また、TMIは大手法律事務所の中で唯一京都にオフィスを設けており、今後も京都との関係を一層深め、強化することを目的として、本協定の締結に至りました。両者が連携することで、芸術と社会とのつながりをより高め、地域社会及び国際社会の持続的発展に貢献することを目指します。

■連携・協力の主な内容

本協定に基づき、以下の事項について連携・協力を行います。

• 共同研究、委託研究に関すること
• 講義実施、講師派遣、人材採用・育成に関すること
• 学生のキャリア教育に関すること
• その他両社の協議により必要と認める事項に関すること

TMIと京都市立芸術大学は、2024年より既に「卒業後の人生」について検討するテーマ演習を共同で実施しており、今後も異なるテーマでの講義を行う予定です。その他の連携・協力事項の具体的な取組内容および実施方法については、両者が協議の上、個別に決定していきます。今後、TMIと京都市立芸術大学は、互いの専門性を活かしながら、芸術と法律が交差する領域において新たな価値を創出し、社会に貢献する取り組みを進めてまいります。

TMI Associates and Kyoto City University of Arts have signed a partnership and cooperation agreement

On March 11, 2025, TMI signed an agreement with Kyoto City University of Arts to promote mutual collaboration and cooperation.

■ Background and purpose of the agreement 

Kyoto City University of Arts is a traditional university that has nurtured and matured the artistic fields in Japan and promoted artistic creation and research for many years in Kyoto, which is a hub of international cultural exchange, and the university has produced many artists.
TMI is a comprehensive professional law firm with a global presence, providing legal support across a wide variety of fields. In addition, TMI is the only major law firm with an office in Kyoto, and this agreement was concluded with the aim of further deepening and strengthening TMI’s relationship with Kyoto into the future.
By working together, the two parties aim to further strengthen the connection between art and society and to contribute to the sustainable development of both local and international communities.

■ Main contents of collaboration and cooperation

Based on this agreement, we will collaborate and cooperate on the following matters:

• Performing joint research and commissioned research;
• Conducting lectures, dispatching instructors, recruiting personnel and conducting training;
• Providing career education for students; and
• Other matters deemed necessary through discussion between the two parties

TMI and Kyoto City University of Arts have already been jointly conducting a thematic seminar since 2024 to consider “life after graduation,” and will continue to hold lectures on different themes. The specific initiatives and methods for implementing other collaborative and cooperative matters will be decided individually by both parties after consultation. The future will see TMI and Kyoto City University of Arts utilizing each other’s expertise to create new value in the field where arts and the law intersect, and both parties will work hard to contribute to society.
