この度、TMI総合法律事務所は、2025年3月1日付けで嶋田隆（しまだ　たかし）氏を特別顧問として迎えました。

■特別顧問　嶋田隆氏について
1982年に通商産業省（現：経済産業省）に入省し、2019年に事務次官として退官するまで、通商、産業、経済など幅広い分野に携わるとともに、経済財政大臣、財務大臣、官房長官などの政務秘書官を歴任。2011年には東京電力福島第一原発の事故を受けて、原子力賠償・廃炉等支援機構（NDF）を設立し、2015年まで東京電力取締役執行役を務める。2021年10月には岸田内閣発足にともない、内閣総理大臣首席秘書官に就任し、2024年10月の内閣交代まで務めた後、現在は、NDFおよびラピダスの特別参与を務めるほか、複数の団体・企業の顧問を兼任。 

当事務所は、経済政策やエネルギー政策、総理官邸での経験を含め、豊富な経験を有する嶋田隆氏を迎えたことで、エネルギー、金融、医療、デジタル、国際通商、経済安全保障など、様々な分野における法務ニーズに応えることにより、より一層充実したリーガルサービスをクライアントの皆様に提供してまいります。

嶋田　隆です。この度、ご縁がありTMI総合法律事務所に参画することとなりました。

私のバックグラウンドは、以下の通りです。
①経済政策　
1982年に通産省（現入省後、2019年に事務次官で退官するまで、通商、産業、経済など幅広い分野に携わってきました。また経済財政大臣、財務大臣、官房長官などの政務秘書官を勤めました。

②エネルギー政策
2011年の東京電力福島第一原発の事故をうけて、原子力損害賠償支援機構（現原子力損害賠償・廃炉等支援機構（NDF））を立ち上げ、2015年まで東京電力取締役執行役を勤めました。

③総理官邸
2021年10月の岸田内閣発足にともない、内閣総理大臣首席秘書官となり、2024年10月の内閣交代まで勤めました。 

現在は、NDFおよびラピダスの特別参与を務めるほか、複数の団体・企業の顧問などを務めています。

My name is Takashi Shimada, and I am grateful for the opportunity to join TMI Associates.

My career has mainly been in the following areas:
1) Economic Strategies
After joining the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (currently Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI)) in 1982, I engaged in a wide range of areas, such as international trade, industry and economy, until I retired as the Vice-Minister of METI in 2019. I have also served as the Political Assistant to the Minister of State for Economic and Fiscal Policy, Political Assistant to the Minister of Finance and Financial Services, and Political Assistant to the Chief Cabinet Secretary, among other similar roles;

2) Energy Strategies
In response to the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident in 2011, I set up the Nuclear Damage Liability Facilitation Fund (currently the Nuclear Damage Compensation and Decommissioning Facilitation Corporation (NDF)), and served as Member of the Board, and Executive Officer of the Tokyo Electric Power Company, until 2015; and

3) Prime Minister's Office
I was appointed as the Chief Executive Secretary to the Prime Minister in Charge of Political Affairs upon the inauguration of the Kishida Cabinet in October 2021 and served until the cabinet change in October 2024.

I am currently serving as a Special Advisor to the NDF and Rapidus Corporation, and as an advisor to several other organizations and companies.

I will exert my best efforts to be of assistance to our clients, joining the vital and dedicated members of TMI Associates.
